Dijital teknolojiyi farklı amaçlarla kullanan çocukların ve ebeveynlerinin kullanım amacı, süresi, çocukların dijital cihaz kullanımlarına yönelik ebeveyn tutumları ve bu tutumun etkileri ile ilgili çocukların görüşlerini belirlemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilen araştırmanın çalışma grubu, amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden aykırı durum örneklemesi ile oluşturulmuştur. Dijital teknolojiyi üretim odaklı kullandıkları belirlenen, bu konuda kendilerini geliştirmek için bir eğitim programına katılan ve bu veya benzeri bir programa katılmayan, ebeveynleri tarafından dijital cihaz kullanımının üretim odaklı gerçekleşmediği belirtilen 7-15 yaş aralığındaki toplam 61 çocuğa ulaşılmıştır. Çalışmada nitel ve nicel verilerin bir arada değerlendirildiği karma yöntem kullanılmış, araştırma deseni yakınsayan paralel karma yöntem olarak belirlenmiştir. Çalışmanın verileri kişisel bilgi formu ve yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu aracılığıyla çocuklarla yüz yüze görüşme yapılarak toplanmıştır. Elde edilen nicel verilerin frekans ve yüzde değerleri hesaplanmış, nitel veriler için kodlama sonrası kategoriler oluşturulmuş ve içerik analiziyle değerlendirilmiştir. Çocukların teknolojik cihazlarını kullanım amaç ve sürelerindeki farklılıklar ebeveynlerinin kullanım amacı, süresi, ebeveyn tutumları ile etkileri değerlendirilerek tartışılmış, farklı ilgiye sahip çocukların kullanabileceği üretim odaklı uygulamalar geliştirilmesi, bu uygulamaların örgün eğitim aracılığıyla yaygınlaştırılması ve dezavantajlı çocuklara ulaşılır hale getirilmesi önerileri sunulmuştur.
The work group of the research conducted in order to determine the purpose, duration, parental attitudes towards the use of digital devices of children and the views of children about the effects of this attitude, was created by sample of situations contrary to the methods of sample for different purposes. A total of 61 children from the age of 7-15 who have been identified using digital technology productively, who have participated in an educational program to develop themselves in this area and who have not participated in this or similar program, who have not been identified that the use of digital devices by their parents did not occur productively. In the study, the karma method used in which the quality and quantity data are evaluated together, the research model is identified as a parallel karma method that is closer to the research model. The data of the study was collected by face-to-face interviews with children through a personal information form and a semi-configured conversation form. The frequency and percentage values of the obtained quantum data are calculated, post-coding categories for the quality data are created and evaluated by content analysis. Differences in the purpose and time of use of children’s technological devices; the purpose of use of their parents, the duration, the influence of their parents and the attitude, the development of production-oriented practices that children with different interests can use, the spread of these practices through daily education and the making available to disadvantaged children.
The aim of this study is to determine the diversity in children’s and their parents’ digital technology usage purposes and duration; the parental attitudes towards children’s use of digital devices and the effect of parents’ attitude on children’s usage. In the study deviant case sampling, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used. A total of 61 children between the ages of 7-15 participated in the study. One of the groups consisted of 30 children, who were determined to use digital technology as production-oriented and registered for a training program to improve themselves on this subject. The other group consisted of children who did not participate in a similar program and was determined that their use of digital devices was not production-oriented. In the study, qualitative and quantitative data were evaluated together, and convergent parallel mixed method research design was used. The data of the study were collected through face-to-face interviews with the children through the personal information form and semi-structured interview form. Frequency and percentage values of the quantitative data were calculated, categories were created after the coding for qualitative data and evaluated by content analysis. Differences in the purpose and duration of the use of children's technological devices and suggestions for the beneficial use have been discussed by evaluating the purpose, duration, parental attitudes and effects of them. Development of production-oriented applications that can be used by children with different interests, making these practices widespread through formal education and making them accessible to disadvantaged children have been recommended.
