Women are subjugated by men in different ways in most of the societies today but they did not have such relegated social status in some civilizations. The structural changes in family setups due to economic dynamics, climatic variations, and scientific revolutions have always been reshaping roles and identities of the two genders. Likewise, the prevalent social, political, and cultural traditions which are the cause of women’s oppression and identity crisis in Pakistan are going to change with the time. This article is based on the findings of qualitative content analysis of the autobiography My Feudal Lord by Tehmina Durrani in which the author has exposed realities of Pakistani society and its structure which places women in an insignificant social position. Through the analysis and application of the theories of social change, it was concluded that roles and identities of the genders are expected to be re-shaped by transformation in social setups because of rapid scientific inventions and women are likely to achieve better social status in future.
