TİCARİ LİBERALİZASYON KAPSAMINDA YOKSULLAŞTIRAN BÜYÜME HİPOTEZİ GEÇERLİ Mİ? : TÜRKİYE ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract:

Ticari liberalizasyon sürecinin pek çok önemli ekonomik etki ve sonuçları bulunmaktadır. Günümüzde ticari liberalizasyon sürecinin özellikle ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkileri dikkat çekici boyutlara ulaşmış durumdadır. Yoksullaştıran büyüme de bu etkilerden bir tanesini oluşturmaktadır. Bu bağlamda reel efektif döviz kurunun ve dış ticaret hadlerinin yoksullaştıran büyümeye neden olup olmadığını tespit etmek amacıyla Türkiye ekonomisine ait 2010Q1 – 2018Q3 çeyreklik veriler kullanılarak oluşturulan model, ARDL sınır testi yardımıyla ekonometrik olarak analiz edilmektedir. Yapılan analiz neticesinde dış ticaret haddi ve reel büyüme oranı arasında uzun dönemli ve negatif yönlü bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca reel efektif döviz kuru ile reel büyüme oranı arasında uzun dönemli pozitif ilişki saptanmıştır. Bütün bu analiz ve değerlendirmeler sonucunda Türkiye’de yoksullaştıran büyüme hipotezinin varlığı kabul edilmektedir.

The process of commercial liberalization has many significant economic effects and consequences. Today, the impact of the trade liberalization process, especially on economic growth, has reached remarkable dimensions. The poverty growth is one of these effects. In this context, the model created using the 2010Q1 - 2018Q3 quarter data of the Turkish economy in order to determine whether the real effective currency rate and foreign trade limits are causing poverty growth, is analyzed econometrically with the help of the ARDL border test. The analysis found a long-term and negative relationship between foreign trade and real growth rate. There is also a long-term positive relationship between the real effective exchange rate and the real growth rate. All these analyses and assessments result in the existence of the poverty growing hypothesis in Turkey.

As a result of the analysis, a long-term and negative relationship was found between the terms of trade and real growth rate. In addition, there was a long-term positive relationship between real effective exchange rate and real growth rate. All these analyzes and evaluations of the results in the presence of impoverishing growth hypothesis is accepted in Turkey.
