Çaba Gerektiren Kontrol Ölçeği’nin Türkçe’ye Uyarlanması

Bu çalışma okul öncesi eğitim kurumlarına devam eden 48-72 aylık çocukların çaba gerektiren kontrollerini ölçmeye yönelik olarak Rothbart, Ahadi, Hershey ve Fisher (2001) tarafından geliştirilen “Çaba Gerektiren Kontrol Ölçeği”nin geçerlilik ve güvenilirliğinin test edilmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, 48 ile 72 ay arasındaki 350 çocuk (174 kız ve 176 erkek) belirlenmiş ve ölçekler bu çocukların öğretmenleri (50 öğretmen) tarafından doldurulmuştur. Ölçeğin psikometrik özelliklerini test etmek için dilsel eşdeğerlik, güvenilirlik ve geçerlilik analizleri yapılmıştır. Dilsel eşdeğerlik analizi bulgularına göre, Türkçe ve İngilizce formlardan alınan puanlar arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ilişki bulunmaktadır (p<.01) ve formlar arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunmamaktadır. Güvenilirlik analizleri kapsamında iç tutarlılık, madde-toplam, madde kalan, madde ayırt edicilik ve test-tekrar test analizleri yapılmıştır. Ölçeğin tamamının iç tutarlılık katsayısı .94 olarak tespit edilirken; alt ölçeklerin iç tutarlılık katsayılarının .75 ile .91 arasında değiştiği görülmüştür. Ölçeğin ve alt ölçeklerin madde analiz sonuçlarının da istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bulgulara göre, ölçeğin ve alt ölçeklerin test-tekrar test korelasyonları da istatistiksel olarak anlamlıdır. Son olarak, ölçeğin kapsam, yapı ve kriter geçerliliğini ortaya koymak için bir dizi analiz yapılmıştır. Kriter geçerliliği için Çocuk Ego Sağlamlığı Ölçeği kullanılmıştır (Önder ve Gülay-Ogelman, 2011). Alan yazındaki çalışmalarda olduğu gibi iki ölçek arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı orta düzeyde bir ilişkinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir (r =.53, p<.01). Bulgular “Çaba Gerektiren Kontrol Ölçeği”nin Türkçe versiyonunun yeterli psikometrik özelliklere sahip olduğunu ve öğretmenlerin çocukların çaba gerektiren kontrollerini ölçmede kullanabilecekleri geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğunu ortaya koymuştur.

This study was conducted with the aim of testing the validity and reliability of the "Control Measurement" developed by Rothbart, Ahadi, Hershey and Fisher (2001) to measure the effort-need controls of children aged 48-72 months in pre-school education institutions. For this purpose, 350 children between 48 and 72 months (174 girls and 176 men) were identified and the scales were filled by the teachers of these children (50 teachers). Language equivalence, reliability and validity analyses have been conducted to test the psychometric characteristics of the scale. According to the results of the linguistic equivalent analysis, there is a statistically meaningful relationship between the points obtained from the Turkish and English forms (p<. There is no statistically significant difference between the forms. In the framework of reliability analyses, internal consistency, substance-total, substance remains, substance differentiability and test-up test analyses have been carried out. The internal consistency ratio of the whole measurement is .94, while the internal consistency ratio of the lower measurements varies between .75 and .91. The results of the measurement and sub-scale material analysis have also been statistically meaningful. According to the findings, the test-up test correlations of scale and lower scale are also statistically meaningful. Finally, a series of analyses have been made to reveal the scope, structure and validity of the scale. The criterion validity has been used by the Child’s Ego Sustainability Measurement (Leader and Gülay-Ogelman, 2011). Studies in the field letter have found that there is a statistically meaningful middle-level relationship between the two scales (r = 53, p<.01). The findings showed that the Turkish version of the "Professive Control Scale" has sufficient psychometric properties and is a valid and reliable measurement tool that teachers can use to measure the children's controls that require effort.

This study was conducted for the purpose of testing validity and reliability of the "Effort Control Questionnaire", which is intended to measure the effort control of 48-72 month-old children enrolled in preschool institutions, developed by Rothbart, Ahadi, Hershey and Fisher (2001). The scale was administered to 50 teachers of 350 children (174 girls and 176 boys) who were ranging from 48 to 72-month-old. In order to test psychometric characteristics of the scale, language equivalence, reliability and validity analyses were conducted. According to the findings of language equivalence analyses, there were statistically significant positive correlations between scores of Turkish and English forms (p<.01) and there were no significant differences between them. Within the scope of reliability, internal consistency, item-total, item-remaining, item discrimination, and test-retest analyses were conducted. While the internal consistency coefficient of the scale was .94; the internal consistency coefficients of the subscales ranged from .75 to .91. The findings of item analyses for scale and subscales were also statistically significant. In order to test the test-retest reliability of the scale and subscales, correlation analysis was conducted. According to findings, test-retest correlations of the scale and subscales were also statistically significant. Afterwards, a series of analyses was conducted to ensure content, construct, and criterion validity of the scale. The scores obtained from the "Children Ego Resiliency Scale" (Önder and Gülay-Ogelman, 2011) were administered as a means of criterion validity. In parallel to the literature, a statistically significant relationship was obtained between the scores of children on the two scales (r = .53, p<.01). Findings indicated that Turkish version of "Effortful Control Questionnaire" has satisfactory psychometric characteristics and is a reliable and valid tool for teachers to assess children’s effortful control.
