Erken çocukluk dönemi, insan yaşamının 0-8 yaş arasını kapsamaktadır. Erken çocukluk çağındaki çocukların gereksinimleri çerçevesinde geçmişle günümüz arasında karşılaştırmalar yapılan araştırmalarda, günümüz çocuklarının gereksinimlerinin de önceki kuşaklara göre oldukça farklılaştığı vurgulanmaktadır. Eğitim sistemlerinin kendileri için gelecek tasarladığı ve önceki kuşaklardan farklı özellikler sergiledikleri düşünülen çağımız çocuklarının yirmi birinci yüzyılda yaşanan gelişmelerden (teknoloji çağı, dijitalleşme, dijital kültür vb.) dolayı sosyal, kültürel, ailevi ve ekonomik değişkenler alt yapısında düşünce ve değer sistemleri yönüyle önceki nesiller ile kıyaslandığında farklılaşmalar görülmektedir.

There are differences when compared.
