Abstract:

Purpose: In this study, the use areas within the Prof. Dr. Erdal Inönü City Park, located in Antalya or Muratpaşa district, have been evaluated according to aesthetic and functional criteria in terms of user opinions. Method: In the study, the use areas within the park were determined and a map of each use area was created. The survey was conducted in order to obtain users' opinions about the park. The data obtained was evaluated using identifying statistics in the computer environment. The data obtained from the survey work resulted in a map based on each criterion of the park. Results: The challenge and park entrance located in the west of the park has the highest level of preference. The study area found that rural coffee, coffee and swimming pool in the middle of the area had less preferential levels. The association building and children's playground located in the east and southeast of the work area are not preferred by users.  Depending on the variables such as age, profession, income, user preferences show significant differences. There is no significant difference in education and gender variations. Result: The main objective of achieving a successful landscape design is to be preferred by people. So before the landscape design is done in any area, users should be investigated, requests and requests should be taken, the landscape design should be developed in this direction.

Results: There is determined that square and entrance of the park are the most favorite areas in the park. Garden, cafe and surround of ornamental pool which are found in the middle of the park, are less favorite areas in the park. Building and playground which are found in the east and southwest of the park, are not favorite by users. Preferences have shown significant difference according to variables such as age, occupation and income. But preferences have not shown significant difference according to variables such as education and sex. Conclusion: The main purpose of the success of the landscape design is to be liked by users. Therefore, before landscaping design is done in any area, users should be investigated, requests and demands should be taken and landscape design should be developed in this direction.
