Abstract:

In recent years, research findings on the importance of paternal identity and the role of fathers as a model in childbirth have increased interest in the participation of fathers in the educational process. The aim of this study is to determine the views of children in the primary school period on the family participation of their parents. The research is designed according to the phenomenological (olgubilim) research pattern of research methods. Study, 2018-2019 educational year II. In the course of the period, he was conducted with the parents of twelve students who studied in primary school (1-4th grade). The research used the conversation technique from the quality data collection methods and the data was collected through the "semi-configured conversation form". The analysis method is used for the analysis of the data collected. The study found that the parents' perceptions of family participation were different, that they participated in family participation studies based on home and school but that the participation studies were not sufficient. It is also noted that family participation studies have a positive impact on the father, child and father-child relationship, especially in increasing children’s academic achievements and on their social and emotional development. The results from the research were discussed in the relevant field in the summer.
