This study aims to analyze the relationship between early maladaptive schemas, marital problem-solving ability and marital satisfaction. Following this aim, The Young Schema Questionnaire Short Form-3, Marital Problem-Solving Score, Marital Life Scale and Personal Information Form are applied to 368 randomly selected voluntary married couples. When we look at the participants in percentage, it is seen that 51.9% of them are woman, 41.8% of them are between 31-40 age and 80.4% of them are unemplayed. 39.9% of the couples lasted on a time scale ranging from 1 to 5 years. The 54.9% of the participants are child bearers. A significant relationship between marital satisfaction and problem-solving ability is founded. An avoidant significant relationship is founded between sub-dimensions relating to marital satisfaction and early maladaptive schemas and total score. It is examined that failure and entitlement/insufficient self-control have no significant effect on marital satisfaction. An avoidant significant relationship is found between total score regarding problem-solving ability with early maladaptive schemas and sub-dimensions regarding early maladaptive schemas. Emotional deprivation, social isolation/ alienation regarding early maladaptive schemas and vulnerability against harm and illness has an avoidant significant effect on marital satisfaction. As a whole, early maladaptive schemas and problem-solving ability have a significant impact on marital satisfaction. This study is aimed to function as a contributor to further studies related to marital satisfaction.
