Glaze is one of the materials used in ceramic art and industry. The glaze, the main material of which is silicium, covers of the ceramic material surface and forms a glassy layer on the surface. The usage of glaze serves different purposes in the field of art and industry. Glaze, which is used in the industry to optimize the surface properties of the ceramic product, is mostly used in the field of art to add an artistic value to the surface or to color the surface. The development of glaze technologies has led to the emergence of a wide range of glazes with various color and texture properties. In the field of art, crackle, crystal, aventurine, fluent and crawling, etc. glaze varieties are developed as a commercial product and are included in the practice of artists. In addition to all these, artistic practices that develop on the personal axis of the artists and in which the glaze is at the forefront rather than the form are emerging. Although there is no technical definition of this usage in the literature, it has been understood that such applications are called "extreme glazing" or "glaze shaping" in the artist interviews. In this research, artists who develop their own glazes in their artistic production processes and make intensive glazing or shaping with glaze are discussed, and the potential for usage of this new form of expression is evaluated.
