The success of the meşk system in Turkish music education is well known as a means in the education of composers, hanende, sazende, musicologists and music theorists the works of which have reached our day. However, the application of the meşk system has decreased in our day due to the excessive number of students as well as the changes in social structure thus becoming a system that is preferred in private courses or one-to-one courses rather than public schools. Open Course system started to be preferred during the past decade in both collective education and remote education thanks to the developments in computer technology. This study compares the end of semester examination success of students for the for both the current education method and the aforementioned new education methods in Turkish Music Solfege and Theory II course that is part of the curriculum in the Music Theory department of the Istanbul Technical University State Conservatory. It was observed as a result of this comparison that the use of both these methods as one single blend in Turkish Music education increases the success of current music students.
