The tourism sector has a fragile structure affected by many internal and external factors such as natural disasters, terrorism, politics, security. In the tourism sector, struggling with the negative effects of the worldwide Covid 19 pandemic in 2019, the war between Russia and Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022, has begun to form big signs of question. Due to the fact that both countries are one of the countries that send the most tourists to Turkey, there are uncertainty regarding the tourism season of 2022. In this framework, the study aimed at revealing the forecasts for the summer period of 2022 by examining the written news content in local and national digital media, 119 news and 671 news statements were analyzed and the current situation was analyzed. According to the data obtained in February, “the demand decline, hope, concern”; in March, “the demand decline, alternative tourism, income loss” and in April, “Covid, alternative market, MIR” statements were seen. Expressions such as payment facilities, alternative payment options and the creation of alternative markets have also been defined as solutions. In light of these data, it is recommended that the tourism sector, which has not been able to solve the effects of the Covid pandemic, develop promotional and marketing activities to local tourists and foreign alternative markets in order to avoid the devastating effects of the Russian Ukrainian war.
