Odunpazarı kentsel sit alanı, tarihi ve kültürel miras değerleri bakımından oldukça zengin bir potansiyele sahiptir. Bu tür turizm destinasyonlarında turizmin gelişmesi ve kültürel mirasın yeterince korunması için yerel halkın desteği çok önemlidir. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, Odunpazarı kentsel sit alanında kültürel mirasın korunması ve turizmle ilişkisine yönelik olarak alanda yaşayan yerel halkın algı ve tutumlarının belirlenmesidir. Araştırma alanı olarak Odunpazarı kentsel sit alanının seçilmesinde, alanda bulunan kültürel miras değerleri ve yoğun turizm faaliyetlerinin yapılması etkili olmuştur. Araştırma kapsamında 155 kişiye yüz yüze olarak anket uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS 21 programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Alanda turizmin etkilerine ilişkin faktörleri belirlemek amacıyla açımlayıcı faktör analizi uygulanmıştır. Ortaya çıkan faktörler ve demografik değişkenler arasındaki farklılıklar t testi ve ANOVA testi ile belirlenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda yerel halkın, turizmin kültürel mirasın korunmasına ve turizmin etkilerine yönelik algılarının olumlu olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
Odunpazarı urban protected area has a very substantial potential in terms of historical and cultural heritage values. The support of local people is very important for the development of tourism and the adequate protection of cultural heritage in such tourism destinations. The main purpose of this study is to determine the perceptions and attitudes of the local people living in the area towards the protection of cultural heritage and its relationship with tourism in the Odunpazarı urban site area. Cultural heritage values and intense tourism activities has been effective in the selection of the Odunpazarı urban site as the research area. Within the scope of the research, a questionnaire has been applied to 155 people by face-to-face interview. The obtained data has been analyzed with SPSS 21 program. Exploratory factor analysis has been applied to determine the factors related to the impacts of tourism in the area. The differences between the resulting factors and demographic variables has been determined by t test and ANOVA test. As a result of the study, it has been determined that the perception of the local people regarding the protection of cultural heritage and the impacts of tourism is positive.
