Amaç: Şiddet toplumun genelinde olduğu gibi sağlık çalışanları için de önemli bir sorundur. Bu çalışmada sağlık çalışanlarının şiddet algısı, şiddete maruz kalma sıklıklarının ve şiddetten etkilenme durumlarının değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Denizli ili merkez sağlık kuruluşlarında görev yapan ve çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden 965 kişi çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Araştırmacılar tarafından literatüre dayanarak oluşturulan anket ile şiddetin tanımı, şiddetin olası nedenleri, şiddetin haklı nedenleri, şiddeti önleyebilecek etkenler, şiddete maruz kalma ve şiddetten etkilenme durumları değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuçlar meslek ve cinsiyet dağılımlarına göre incelenmiştir. Bulgular: Şiddet tüm meslek gruplarında ve her iki cinsiyette en sık fiziksel ve cinsel olarak tanımlanmıştır. Sağlık çalışanlarının %39,5’inin mesleki yaşantısında en az bir kez şiddete maruz kaldığı saptanmıştır. Şiddetin herhangi bir türüne maruz kalanlarla kalmayanlar arasında meslek dağılımları açısından anlamlı farklılık saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Çalışma sağlık çalışanlarına yönelik şiddetin fazlalığını, olumsuz etkilenme durumlarını ortaya koymuştur. Bunun yanında şiddeti tanıma ve önleyici tedbirlerle ilgili sağlık çalışanlarının farkındalıklarını da göstermiştir. Şiddeti önleyebilmek için şiddetin tanınması yanında risk faktörlerinin belirlenmesi ve önleyici etmenlere ilişkin daha fazla çalışma yapılması gerekmektedir.
Purpose: Violence is a major problem for health workers as well as for the whole society. This study aims to assess the perception of violence of health workers, the frequency of exposure to violence and the conditions of exposure to violence. Tools and Methods: 965 people who work in the Central Health Organizations of Denizli and who agree to participate in the work have been included in the work. The researchers based on literature survey assessed the definition of violence, the possible causes of violence, the justified causes of violence, the factors that can prevent violence, the exposure to violence and the situations of violence. The results were studied according to the distribution of the profession and gender. The findings: Violence is defined in all professional groups and both gender and physical and sexual. 39,5 percent of healthcare workers have been exposed to violence only once in their professional life. There is a significant difference between those who are exposed to any kind of violence and those who are not exposed to any kind of violence in terms of occupational distribution. The result: The study has shown the excess of violence against health workers, the conditions of negative impact. In addition, he also showed awareness of the health workers about the recognition of violence and preventive measures. In order to prevent violence, it is necessary to identify the risk factors and to further study the preventive factors.
Purpose: Violence is an important problem for health workers as well as the community. Materials and methods: The study included 965 health workers who serve in central health institutions of Denizli and accepted to participate in the study. The sociodemographic features and detailed assessments of health workers on the definition of violence, possible causes of violence, justified causes of violence, factors that can prevent violence, exposure to violence and how they are affected by violence were examined with the questionnaire prepared by reviewing the literature on violence. The results were evaluated according to occupational and gender distributions. Results: Violence was commonly defined as physical and sexual in all occupational groups and both genders. It was found that 39.5% of the health workers were subjected to violence at least once in their professional life. There was a significant difference in terms of occupational distribution between those who subjected to any type of violence and those who did not. Conclusion: This study revealed the excess violence against health workers and the negative effects of violence on health workers. It also demonstrated the awareness of health workers on the recognition of violence and preventive factors for violence. In order to prevent violence in health workers, further studies on recognition of violence, identification of risk factors and preventive factors for violence are needed.
