Abstract This paper aims to present the mostimportant theoretical contributionson the school culture concept and toanalyze its reception in the Brazilianphysical education academic field.We assume as a start point that theschool culture concept could be afertile research theoretical horizonin comprehending the “being” ofthe physical education, the specificways in producing a specific physicaleducation school culture in thecontext of the school day-to-day.In this sense, we propose sometheoretical-methodological principlesfor researches oriented by the schoolconcept culture, as well we point outpossible research objects based onthat concept.
