Abstract:

Renal artery aneurysms are rarely seen in visceral artery aneurysms. Increasing use of diagnostic imaging studies has provided new insight into our current knowledge of renal artery aneurysms and, many of them are silent. A 28-years-old man suffered from newly diagnosed hypertension. Angiographic examination demonstrated a 3 cm aneurysm which was stated 3 cm distal of the left renal artery origin on the aorta. A saphenous vein graft bypass operation was performed successfully via paramedian abdominal incision. Pathologic examination pointed atherosclerotic etiology. The patient was discharged with moderate dose _-blockade theraphy on the 5th postoperative day. Postoperative magnetic resonance (MR) angiograpic examination showed a patent saphenous bypass graft. We conclude that, in the renal artery aneurysms bypass operation with saphenus vein graft is an acceptable treatment option for the patients who are not suitable for percutaneous intervention.
