Bu çalışmada son dönem Osmanlı sözlükleri olan Kâmus-ı Türkî, Lügat-ı Nâcî, Müntahabât-ı Lügât-ı Osmâniyye ve Lehçe-i Osmânî sözlükleri baz alınarak, sözlüklerdeki hayvan adlarıyla oluşan bitki adlarının söz varlığı tespit edilerek değerlendirilmiştir. Bitkiler konusunun ele alınması ve onları adlandırma yollarına girilmesi Türk dili, kültürü ve coğrafyası hakkında fikir sahibi olunmasına ve onların anlaşılmasına yardımcı olmuştur. Bitkilere isim verilirken onların yetiştiği yer, kullanılışı, görünüşü, rengi gibi özellikler dikkate alınırken bir yandan da onlarla birtakım nesneler ve canlılar arasında bağlantı kurulmuştur. Bunlardan birisi de hayvanlarla olan ilişkisidir. Hayvanların çeşitli özellikleri gözlemlenerek bitkileri adlandırma yollarına girilmiştir. Bitki alanına ilişkin tespit edilen bu sözcükler tablo halinde verilip belli başlıklar altında tasnif edilmiştir. Çalışmada Kâmus-ı Türkî, Lügat-ı Nâcî, Müntahabât-ı Lügât-ı Osmâniyye ve Lehçe-i Osmânî sözlüklerinde hayvan adlarıyla bir araya gelerek bitki adı oluşturan sözcükler ortaya konmuş, bitki kültürüyle ilgili bilgiler sunulmuştur. İncelemenin sonucunda ise hayvan adlarıyla oluşturulan bitki adlarının benzetme yoluyla bu adlandırmaları aldığı anlaşılmaktadır.
In this study, the last period of the Ottoman dictionaries, Kamus-i Turkî, Lügat-i Nâcî, Müntahabât-i Lügât-i Osmâniyye and Lehçe-i Osmânî dictionaries, were assessed by identifying the existence of the word of the plant names formed by the animals names in the dictionaries. Treating the subject of plants and entering the ways of calling them has to get an idea about the Turkish language, culture and geography and to understand them. When the plants are named, they take into account the characteristics of the place, use, appearance, color, and, on the one hand, the connection between them and a number of objects and beings is established. One of these is the relationship with animals. The various characteristics of the animals have been observed and entered the ways of naming the plants. These words, which are identified in relation to the plant area, are given in tables and classified under certain titles. In the study, Kamus-i Turkî, Lügat-i Nâcî, Müntahabât-i Lügât-i Osmâniye and Lehçe-i Osmânî dictionaries gathered with the names of animals and the words that form the name of the plant, information about the plant culture was presented. According to the study, the name of the animal is identified by the name of the animal.
