Genc-i Edeb mesnevisi, Azerbaycan coğrafyasında 19. yüzyılda yaşamış bir şair olan İsmail Nâkâm’ın, Nizâmî’nin Mahzenü’l-Esrâr’ına nazire şeklinde kaleme aldığı bir mesnevidir. 31 makale ve 4123 beyitten oluşan eserde şair, şiir kabiliyetini ve hayata bakış açısını ortaya koymuştur. Şairin eserini yazma amacı ise “edep hazineleri” şeklinde tarif ettiği hususları aktarmaktır. Eserini edep kavramı üzerine kuran Nâkâm, her makalede anlattığı edep kaidesini farklı örneklerle, hikâyelerle, hadis ve ayetlerle destekleyerek kendine has söyleyiş güzelliği ve tasavvur zenginliğiyle beyitlere dökmektedir. Bu vesileyle okuyucuya çeşitli nasihatlerde bulunmakta, dünya ve ahiret hayatında mutluluğu, doğru yolu “edep” kavramı üzerinden göstermektedir. Hazırlanan bu çalışmada ilk olarak İsmail Nâkâm’ın hayatı, sanatı ve eserlerine kısaca değinilmiş daha sonra şairin her makalesinde ele aldığı konulara ve beyit örneklerine yer verilmiş, edeple ilgili görülen hususlar belirtilmiştir. Böylece hem devrinde hak ettiği ilgiye mazhar olamayan Nâkâm tanıtılmaya çalışılmış hem de şairin ömrünün son zamanlarında yazdığı eseri Genc-i Edeb mesnevindeki edep kaideleri aktarılmak istenmiştir.
Genc-i Edeb, it is a mesnevi penned in the form of a nazire for Nizâmî's Mahzenü'l-Esrâr by Ismail Nakâm, a poet who lived in the Azerbaijan geography in the 19th century. In mesnevi consisting of thirty-one articles and 4123 couplets, poet has revealed his poetry ability and perspective on life. The purpose of writing the poet's work is to convey what he described as treasures of decency. Nakam who founded his work on the concept of decency, is pouring into couplets with its unique saying beauty and richness of imagination, in supporting the decency base described in each article with different examples, stories, hadiths and verses. On this occasion, he gives the reader various advice and shows happiness in the world and hereafter through the concept of "decency". In this study, firstly, the life, art and works of Ismael Nakam are briefly mentioned; later, the subjects and couplet examples that the poet has dealt in his article are included, the points seen regarding the decency are specified. Thus, it was tried to introduce Nakam, who was not excluded from the interest he deserved during his time and the decency bases in Genc-i Edeb, which he wrote in the late life of the poet, were asked to be transferred.
