Abstract:

Abstract:

Lakaylar is a Turkish community that lives in the central and southern regions of the Republic of Tajikistan and northern regions of Afghanistan. In Pakistan and some regions of Iran, Lakay can also be mentioned. of XVIII-XIX In the centuries, they were given great rivers to the Lakayas in the Maveraünnehir area. Until the rebellion, the Lakays were attached to the Bukhara Command. In the 1920s, the Lakays also participated in the independence movement. But like other ethnic groups, the Lakayans were evacuated. This independence movement, which Enver Pasha included, ended with a failure. According to the information provided in the Laqay Åvåzi, which was published in Uzbekistan in 1991 near the border with the town of Duşanbe in Tajikistan, the number of these ethnic groups is now over 500 thousand and their languages are at risk of disappearance. Some studies have been conducted to date on the origin and language of the Lakays. In these studies, Lakays were conducted with the theses that they were sometimes relatives to Turkish communities such as Kyrgyz, Kazakh, Karakalpak and Uzbek, and sometimes to Turkish communities in South Siberia. In these theses, the names of size, the names of land and water, the signs on the horses were found in various drawings compared. Some studies show that their languages have specific characteristics to Kazakhstan, while some studies show that the Uzbek language is influenced. After the study on the existence of the word, it is possible to see the influence of the Persian and Taciccan. But there was no detailed study on the languages of the Lakay. This article focuses on the characteristic phonetic and morphological characteristics of the Lakay dialect and proposes a new language design that includes the Lakay dialect.

Abstract:

The Lakai are a Turkish community living in the central and southern regions of the Republic of Tajikistan and in the northern regions of Afghanistan. In addition, Lakais exist in some parts of Pakistan and Iran. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the Lakais, who were given large plateaus, engaged in husbandry in the Transoxiana region. Until the rebellion, the Lakais were attached to the Emirate of Bukhara. In the 1920’s, the Lakais joined into the independence movements. However, like other ethnic groups, Lakais were exiled. These independence movements, including the one with Enver Pasha, were unsuccessful. According to Laqay Åvåzi journal published in Koktash near Dushanbe city of Tajikistan, the number of Lakais today is more than 500 thousand people, and their language is in danger of extinction. To date, some studies have been done about the origin and language of the Lakai. In these studies, hypotheses have been asserted relating the Lakai are descended from Turkish communities such as Kyrgyz, Kazakh, Karakalpak and Uzbek, and sometimes they are affiliated to theTurkish communitiesin South Siberia. In these hypotheses, the names of the tribes, places and water, and the seals on the horses were compared and various inferences have been made. In some studies, it is stated that the Lakai language has characteristics peculiar to Kazakh, and in others it is indicated that the language is influenced by Uzbek. As a result of the research on vocabulary, it was influenced by Persian and Tajik. However, there is no extensive study on the Lakai language. In this article, phonetic and morphological characteristics of the Lakai dialect are emphasized and a new language classification is proposed.
