Sevgi Soysal’ın Yenişehir’de Bir Öğle Vakti ve Yıldırım Bölge Kadınlar Koğuşu Metinlerinde Anlatıcının İronik Tutumu

Sevgi Soysal basılan ilk öykü kitabı 1962 tarihli Tutkulu Perçem’de ve 1968 tarihli Tante Rosa’da kadın olma meselesini annelik, ev kadınlığı, ev içi emek vs. gibi farklı kadınlık durumlarını sergileyerek bir nevi kadının bilinçlenme-gelişme sürecinin tartışılması biçiminde ele alır. 12 Mart sürecini izleyen eserlerinde bu ton geri çekilir, kadınların bilinçlenme meselesi toplumsal cinsiyet bağlamından çıkartılıp sosyalist bilinçlenme sürecinin sergilenmesine dönüşür. Eserlerinde, doğrudan muhtıra sürecinde yaşananların, askerî yönetimin uygulamalarının, bürokrasinin işleyişinin, sol çevrelerin uğradığı fiziksel, psikolojik, gayri hukuki şiddetin ifşa edilmesi söz konusu olur. Kendisi de bu süreçlerin aktif bir öznesi olan Sevgi Soysal’ın hem anı kitabında hem kurgusal metinlerinde, yaşananları ironik bir tutumla yansıtan bir anlatıcının varlığına rastlanır. Sevgi Soysal’ın Yıldırım Bölge Kadınlar Koğuşu eseri, bulunduğu ortamın yanı sıra yaşadığı toplumun kurallarını ve bunları belirleyen sosyo-politik sürecin mantığını sarsarak çelişki ve çıkmazlarla dolu bir ideolojinin neden olduğu ironik durumları ifşa eden eleştirel bir bilincin gözünden oluşturulmuştur. Yenişehir’de Bir Öğle Vakti romanında da Ankara merkezinde toplumun 1970’lerdeki kültürel, gündelik ve ekonomik değişim sürecini tüm yeni sakinleri, ilişkileri ve görünümleriyle “yeni şehrin” ortaya çıkışını inceler. Bu yazıda, Sevgi Soysal’ın 12 Mart sürecini hem kolluk kuvvetlerinin kurduğu iktidar alanı hem sivil toplumun gündelik yaşamı üzerinden tartışan metinlerinde, anlatıcının ironik tutumunun işlevi tespit edilmeye çalışılacak.

The first story book published in Love Social addresses the issue of being a woman in 1962 and in 1968 in Tante Rosa, exhibiting different femininity situations such as maternity, domestic femininity, domestic work, etc. in the form of the discussion of the process of awareness-development of a woman. In their works that follow the March 12 process, this tone is withdrawn, the question of women’s awareness is removed from the context of social gender and transformed into the exhibition of the socialist process of awareness. In their works, it is about the disclosure of the practices of the military administration, the functioning of the bureaucracy, the physical, psychological, and non-legal violence that the left circles suffer. He himself, an active subject of these processes, finds the presence of a narrative in both the memorial and fictional texts of Love Soysal, which reflects the events with an ironic attitude. Love Soysal's Lightning Region Women's Countwork is created by a critical consciousness that reveals the ironic situations caused by an ideology full of contradictions and disagreements by turning down the rules of the society in which it lives and the logic of the socio-political process that determines them. In the novel A Midnight Time in Yenişehir, he also examines the cultural, daily and economic change process of society in the 1970s in the center of Ankara; all the new inhabitants, their relationships and appearances, the appearance of the "new city". In this article, Love Soysal’s March 12 process will be discussed in the texts discussing both the power area established by the law enforcement forces and the daily life of civil society, the function of the narrative’s ironic attitude will be attempted to identify.

Sevgi Soysal’s first short story collections, Tutkulu Perçem (1962) and Tante Rosa (1968), address issues such as motherhood, housewifeliness, and domestic labor. The works present different feminine situations and employ considerably strong language to discuss the development of women’s consciousness. In works following the military intervention of March 12, 1971, this tone is withdrawn; Soysal removes the issue of women’s awareness from the context of gender and transforms it into a portrayal of the development of socialist awareness. Her works offer a direct disclosure of the events of the memorandum: the practices of the military administration, the functioning of the bureaucracy, and the unlawful physical and psychological violence experienced by the socialists. Having been actively subject to these processes, Soysal has a narrator who reflects her own experiences with an ironic attitude in her works. In this article, Soysal’s memoir Yıldırım Bölge Kadınlar Koğuşu and her novel Yenişehir’de Bir Öğle Vakti will be analyzed. The function of the narrator’s ironic attitude will be determined both in these two works and in texts that discuss the military memorandum, with reference to the powers assumed by law enforcement officers and to daily life in civil society
