Homeopathy is an alternative treatment system that helps the body to heal itself naturally by balancing the life-force. Homeopathy was developed and spread throughout the world by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann nearly 200 years ago. Homeopathy is a treatment system that uses entirely natural methods which is applied by referring only to the story of the patient verbally for diagnosis or treatment of the patient “without damage”. Homeopathy includes four basic principles which are: “Similia Similibus Curantur” (likes are cured by likes) principle, “Materia Medica” (The science of homeopathic medicine) knowledge, “Unitas Remedii” (single medication) principle and “Dosis Minima” (minimum dose) principle. In homeopathy, specially diluted drugs are prepared by using plants, animals and minerals according to the patient’s history, psychology and disease. Unlike drugs with ready and standard contents, personalized content is determined. In Germany, production, quality and control of these drugs are regulated by law and published under the title of Deutschen Arzneibuchs (DAB: German Medicine Book). Today, although we see homeopathy as being scientifically accepted in many countries, in Turkey it still has no scientific validity. In this study, information about homeopathy and its basic principles, its historical development, the homeopathic drugs and their use will be given and various aspects of the subject will be examined and discussed
