Abstract:

Today, the decorative plants that have become a single industry are grown for different purposes in each period. In the history of mankind, it has become a part of society by keeping its existence in every period of life. In Turkey, the production area and quantity of decorative plants that are increasing every day are also exported in addition to meeting the needs of the domestic market. As a result of being a product so much affected by the climate, cultivation is often done in greenhouses. The largest production in Turkey takes place in Yalova, Antalya, İzmir, Istanbul, Isparta, Mersin and Tokat, while 86.4% of it is grown under cover. The most produced cutting flowers in these provinces come from cranberries, roses, cranberries, gerbera, zambak and lale. The majority of exports approaching $60 million in 2021 (90%) are carnival. Finally, the diversification of cutting flowers that are produced in Turkey will be quite beneficial in terms of increased exports and product design. In addition, the implementation of organizations such as new specialization in terms of flowering production and marketing in Turkey is hopeful and beneficial in terms of the development of the sector.

In Türkiye, the production area and the amount of ornamental plants are increasing day by day and they are exported as well as meeting the needs of the domestic market. Since it is a product that is very much affected by the climate, it is generally cultivated in greenhouses. In Türkiye, the highest production is realized in Yalova, Antalya, Izmir, Izmir, Istanbul, Isparta, Mersin and Tokat, 86.4% of which is grown in greenhouses. The most produced cut flowers in these provinces are carnation, rose, chrysanthemum, gerbera, lily and tulip. In 2021, a large portion (90%) of the exports approaching 60 million dollars was carnations. Finally, diversifying the types of cut flowers produced in Turkey would be very beneficial in terms of increasing exports and product pattern. In addition, the realization of new organizations such as new specialization in terms of flower production and marketing in Türkiye is promising and beneficial for the development of the sector.
