Özet:

The aim of this study was to examine the incontinence and prolapse knowledge level of women with urinary incontinence. Ninety-six women with urinary incontinence with a mean age of 48.75±11.88 were included in the study. The physical and sociodemographic characteristics of the women, the presence of urinary incontinence, incontinence and prolapse knowledge levels were evaluated with the evaluation form, 3 Incontinence Questionnaires, Prolapse and Incontinence Information Questionnaire scales, respectively. While assessing the knowledge level of women, it was expected that they would score 80% or more on the incontinence subscale and 50% or more on the prolapse subscale for knowledge proficiency. As a result of the study, the incontinence knowledge level of women with urinary incontinence was determined as 66.6%, a value below the 80% threshold determined for the incontinence subscale. The level of prolapse knowledge of women was determined as 58.3%, just above the 50% threshold determined for the prolapse subscale. In this study, it was found that women's incontinence knowledge level was insufficient. It was determined that the level of prolapse knowledge was sufficient compared to the general population.
