Abstract:

The roots of oral literature in the Kyrgyz go back to ancient times. The living conditions of the Kyrgyz, who adopted nomadic life throughout their history, and their attitude to life led to the development of this genre of literature. The lives of the people in society, their communication with each other, their behavior and etiquette are almost a reflection of this species. In addition, oral literature has great importance in the education and training of children. The art of oratory (çeçendik onör) in the mentioned Kyrgyzs is also an important part of oral literature. Although oratory is defined as the art of eloquence, it is the fluency and creativity of meaningful, sharp, correct speech that is transmitted instantaneously according to the situation, which also complies with the demands of folklore. Kyrgyz people call those who convey the art of rhetoric to the public as "Chechens". Chechenism is a special talent and although it is passed down from generation to generation, it has also developed with the relationship between master and apprentice. Chechens made their speech effective by sometimes using proverbs and expressions in place while speaking. The words and deeds of such beautiful speakers have become legends among the people. Oratory phrases are usually a reflection of one speaker transferring as riddles, questions and answers in order to beat the other. In this study, the definition, characteristics, history of the art of rhetoric, representatives of the development processes in the Kyrgyz people and examples of rhetoric stories will be given.
