Abstract:

In the 21st century, society expects educational institutions to raise individuals who enjoy learning, are creative, productive, can think critically, and can make connections between events. In order to achieve this, the interdisciplinary approach is very important in the contemporary education system. In this study, it is aimed to examine whether primary school 4th grade social studies course acquisition and 4th grade social studies course book are related to primary school mathematics course acquisition or not. For this purpose, document review, one of the qualitative research paradigms, was used in the study. The study data consisted of the 2018 primary school social studies course curriculum, the 2018 primary school mathematics course curriculum, and the 4th grade social studies textbook published by the Ministry of National Education. As a result of the study, when the relationship between the acquisition in the 2018 social studies course curriculum and the primary school mathematics course acquisition was examined, it was determined that the most relationship was in the "production, distribution and consumption" learning area, while the least relationship was found in the "global connections" learning area. When the relationship between 2018 4th grade social studies textbook topics and primary school mathematics course acquisition was examined, it was determined that the most relationship was in the "From Production to Consumption" unit, while the least relationship was in the "People and Management" unit.
