Dünya Sağlık Örgütünce 11 Mart 2019’da ilan edilen pandemi, yaşamın tamamını etkilediği gibi ulaştırma ve lojistik sektörünü ve bu sektörün aktörlerini ulusal ve uluslararası bağlamda olağanüstü derecede etkilemiştir. Halen etkileri devam etmekte olan bu süreç hem yolcu hem de yük akışını kısıtlamıştır. Tüm dünyada pek çok olumsuzluğun yaşandığı pandeminin ilgili sektördeki firmaların finansal performanslarına etkileri de önemli konulardan birisidir. Bu çalışmada BIST ulaştırma endeksinde işlem gören firmaların 2008-2020 yılları arasındaki konsolide finansal oranları kullanılarak yıllar bazındaki gelişmeler değerlendirilmiş, finansal performansları OCRA yöntemi ile sıralanmış ve COVID 19 sürecinin etkileri yorumlanmıştır. Performans ölçümünde, likidite, faaliyet, mali yapı, karlılık, büyüme ve piyasa oranları ana başlıkları altında en önemli görülen finansal oranlar kullanılmıştır. Bu analizlerin yanı sıra ilgili sektöre yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur. Sonuçlar 2008-2020 yılları arasında ilgili endekse bağlı şirketlerin pandeminin etkilerini dramatik olarak yaşadığı ve finansal etkinlik açısından en kötü dönemini yaşadığını göstermektedir. Ayrıca finansal oranlar, 2020 yılında sektörün karlılığının büyük oranda düştüğünü, ihtiyaç duyulan finansmanı banka ve banka dışı kaynaklardan finanse edildiğini ve kriz döneminde borçla ayakta kalabildiğini göstermektedir.
The pandemic announced by the World Health Organization on March 11, 2019 has affected the transport and logistics sector as a whole of life, and the actors in this sector have been extremely affected in a national and international context. This process, which is still ongoing effects, has restricted both the passenger and the load flow. The impact of the pandemic that has many negative events around the world on the financial performance of companies in the relevant sector is also one of the important issues. This study used the consolidated financial rates of companies trading in the BIST shipping index between 2008 and 2020 to evaluate the developments on the basis of the years, their financial performance was classified by the OCRA method and the effects of the COVID 19 process were interpreted. In performance measurement, liquidity, activity, financial structure, profitability, growth and market rates have been used under the main titles of the most important financial rates. In addition to these analyses, there are recommendations for the sector concerned. The results show that the influences of the pandemic were dramatically experienced by the relevant index-related companies between 2008 and 2020 and that they experienced the worst period in terms of financial performance. In addition, the financial rates show that the sector’s profitability will decline significantly in 2020, the necessary funding is financed from bank and non-bank resources, and it can stand up with debt during the crisis period.
The pandemic, which was announced by the World Health Organization on March 11, 2019, has affected the entire life, as well as the transportation and logistics sector and its actors both nationally and internationally. This process, which has been experienced and whose effects are still continuing, has restricted the flow of both passengers and cargo. The effects of the pandemic, which has caused many negativities all over the world, also on the financial performance of the companies in the relevant sector is one of the important issues. In this study by using consolidated financial ratios of the companies traded in the transportation index in the Istanbul Stock Exchange between 2008 and 2020, authors evaluated the developments on a yearly basis, the financial activities were ranked with the OCRA method and the effects of the COVID 19 process were interpreted. Since measuring the financial performance, the most important financial ratios were used under the main headings of liquidity, activity, financial structure, profitability, growth and sector rates. In addition to these analyses, suggestions were made for the relevant sector. The results show that between 2008 and 2020, the companies affiliated to the relevant index experienced the effects of the pandemic dramatically and experienced the worst period in terms of financial performance. In addition, the financial ratios show that the profitability of the sector has dropped dramatically in 2020, the sector survived by financing from banks and non-bank sources, and resisted to crisis with debt in this period.
