Abstract:

In this study; It is aimed to compare some physico-chemical properties and heavy metal contents of the soils in the lands where traditional tea cultivation is made in Derepazarı district and in the lands where organic tea cultivation is made in Hemşin district of Rize province. In the scope of the research; Traditional and organic tea cultivation areas were compared in terms of heavy metal accumulation (iron, zinc, copper, manganese, cobalt, lead, nickel and cadmium) and some mineral substances (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) content. Within the scope of the study, the areas where traditional and organic tea cultivation is carried out were evaluated in terms of soil fertility. For this purpose, soil samples were taken from tea gardens determined in 15 organic and 15 traditional agricultural application areas and necessary analyzes were made. According to the results obtained in the study, the nitrogen and phosphorus content of the soils of traditional agricultural areas were found to be significantly higher (p<0.05) than organic agricultural areas. On the other hand, the soils of both areas were determined to be poor in terms of nitrogen and phosphorus content. The heavy metal contents of the soils belonging to the traditional agricultural areas were generally higher than the soils of the organic agricultural areas. However, only the amount of iron and lead was statistically (p<0.05) higher than the organic farming fields.
