The modernization conceptualized in social sciences as society and change has emerged with the idea of progress made by the period intellectuals especially at the end of the 18th century and at the beginning of the 19th century. The tendency to modernize in music is manifested itself in every society over time through the adoption of advanced techniques used in the music of different cultures. In music, locality includes traditional elements and is based on an older tradition, whereas modernization shows a tendency to develop the existing, as opposed to this. Modernization in singing education has gained momentum especially in the 19th century in our country. Contemporary music, which always tends to catch up with the new, also takes place in the singing lesson, and the composers of the period have a variety of composition techniques, such as arya, aryantik, chanson, romance, lied and so on. With the establishment of the first conservatory in the history of our country, modern works were included in the repertoire of singing, and it took time to enter the singing repertoire of local music based on traditional sculpture. The modernization works of music in the Ottoman Empire, which gained momentum during the Tanzimat era, continued after the Republican era. Nowadays, the institutions that teach singing at the undergraduate level also show a separate and sometimes influential formation in the repertoire and methodical education in the modernization process from the local repertoire. The reflections of these modernization studies in music, especially singing education, have also been researched. In this research, the modernization in our country mainly includes the subject and the music, especially the place and development of singing education.
