Abstract:

At the point of revealing the situation in our country in relation to STEM education, it is believed that postgraduate research plays an important role. The purpose of this research is to study the STEM education theses conducted in Turkey between 2012-2018 years. The examples of the study consist of 83 theses achieved in full text. In the research in the quality research pattern, a document review from the quality data collection methods has been used. The data obtained through the thesis class form is evaluated by content analysis. The research finds that the majority of the thesis was made in 2018, the theses were mostly the master's thesis. In the theses, the method of mixed research is often used, the survey and scales are mostly used as a data collection tool, and quantitative data analysis is often used. More than half of the theses were shown as sample for K12 students and mostly the high school level, while in research with their bachelor students, mostly the candidates for science knowledge teachers were included. The sample size in the thesis studies was mostly between 31-100. In more than half of the theses, the opinions on the STEM training practices were studied, and it was determined that it was followed by the perception, interest and attitude towards the STEM career. In the theses it was determined that the effects of STEM training on skills such as problem-solving skills, scientific process skills were second-degree frequently studied. The most researched field of knowledge learning in the theses has been found that the product is academic success. In the theses, it is also determined that STEM training is mostly applied using the engineering design process, which is followed by robotic applications with the 5E model of the structuring approach. In the light of the findings, researchers have been given recommendations.
