Abstract:

he structures of the Anatolian Seljuk State Period (1075-1308) have a classical architectural style, they also have architectural elements that symbolize buildings belonging to different periods and regions. The portals, reflecting the architectural style of the period they were built, on which many details were processed, and built, provide a lot of information about the design been a product of which period and region. Within the scope of this study, Konya Alâeddin Mosque (1220) and Aksaray Sultanhanı (1229) portals, which are considered to be designed by the same architect, were examined, and a comparative analysis was carried out with the Karatay Madrasa (1251-1252) portal, which is thought to be the synthesis of the portal in these works. Owing to the analysis in this context, it has been concluded that the important details that will help to determine the approximate construction date of the Karatay Madrassah, whose construction date has not been clarified, and that should be examined by the researchers.
