Abstract:

Gemination and fusion are the most commonly encountered anomalies, and distinction between the two is always challenging. Gemination is defined as an attempt to make two teeth from one tooth bud. This case report describes the multidisiplinary treatment of a female patient with a geminated central tooth. The patient did not have history of anomaly in her primary dentition and in her family either. This type of dental anomaly can cause clinical problems in the form of malocclusion, poor aesthetic, and impaction of adjacent teeth caries, and periodontal destruction. For the treatment we preferred a new alternative method instead of hemisection surgery which is the gold standard for reducing the mesio-distal sizes of big crowns. Long term follow up is needed. Abstract:

Developmental anomalies in hard tissues are a very common situation in dental medicine. Gemination and fusion are two of these anomalies, and they make similar clinical tables that are quite mixed with each other. Geminas is a large crowned tooth formation with the effort to create two teeth from a single toothbrush. This case report - and the multidisciplinary treatment of the female patient, which is a gemination center female in the permanent dentistry - is described. The patient has said that there is no family transition in having this anomaly and that there is no such problem in the milk teeth. This type of dental abnormality can cause tooth intersection, staying buried, periodontal scratch, scratch, or aesthetic problems. In the treatment, a new method was described in the day-museum, which could be an alternative to the preferred hemispheric treatment of the mesio-distal sizes of these twin teeth. It requires long-term tracking.
