Abstract:

The main aim of this research is to prove the meaningful relationship between the level of organizational happiness and organizational silence for the teachers who work at primary public schools in Mersin Province. The population for the quantitative data collection comprises 3989 primary school teachers who work at state schools in central districts of Mersin Province. The sample was calculated on the basis of accessibility, and 723 teachers were reached. Demographic Information form, the scale of organizational happiness and the scale of organizational silence have been used in the study. In this research, it is aimed to determine the correlation between the organizational happiness and organizational silence levels of classroom teachers and whether these levels differ according to their age, gender, seniority and length of work at the institution as well as the variables predicting organizational silence. The data were analyzed with the help of SPSS. t-test and ANOVA were used to analyze the difference according to demographic variables. In order to determine the variables predicting organizational happiness and silence levels, Stepwise OLS Regression Analysis was conducted. It has been concluded that there is a moderate negative relationship between organizational happiness and organizational silence. It is recommended that school administrators take measures to prepare the necessary environment in order to avoid negative emotions.
