Purpose : Our aim was to evaluate the outcomes of the patients in colonoscopy because of rectal bleeding. Methods: 2,356 patients undergoing elective colonoscopy between January 2008- June 2012 were evaluated retrospectively the results that have been made. Histopathological examination of the patients were evaluated with polypectomy and biopsy results. Results: 2356 the patient's elective colonoscopy examination 787 (33.2%) had been admitted with rectal bleeding in 4 years. 659 patients (27.9%), constipation and 424 patients (17.9%) patients, weight loss and anemia examination, 117 patients (4.9%), diarrhea, and 329 patients (13.9%) before the follow-up colonoscopy polypectomy or colorectal cancer after surgery. 787 patients presenting with rectal bleeding were evaluated retrospectively. Of these patients, 456 (58%) hemorrhoidal disease, 149 (19%) polyps in the colon or rectum, 86 (11%), iverticular disease, 62 (8%), colon or rectal cancer, 23 patients (3%), inflammatory bowel disease, colonoscopic examinations were normal in 11 patients. Conclusion: We think that colonoscopy is an important examination, rectal bleeding, the bleeding lesion to be visible supply, as well as histopathological diagnosis in patients with suspected malignancy, since it benefits provide.
