Abstract The article was born in response to the need to evaluate the female participation in the migratory processes in Cuba, specifically to the United States. As a starting point, two elements were fundamentally taken. In the first place, the female supremacy in Cuban emigrations to various destinations, since 1995, only reversing this fact during the so-called 'migration crises'. Secondly, that the United States continues to present itself as the main destination for Cuban emigration. Therefore, the objective of the text is to evaluate the gender differences, manifest or latent, in the Cuban migratory processes towards the United States during the years 2000 to 2010. For this purpose, a predominantly quantitative research methodology was used, although they were taken into account. account elements of the qualitative perspective with the intention of obtaining a more comprehensive vision of the object of study, essentially in the analysis of the results obtained. The main research results pointed to the predominance of white people in Cuban emigration to the United States, standing out in the case of women; The age composition of the sample under study responded to young people, where the trend indicated a reduction in the age of departure from the country between the years studied (2000-2010). Regarding gender differences, the main results could be identified in the female predominance in elements such as the coincidence of the country of residence of the children with that of the migrant; as well as in the monthly shipments of remittances to the country of origin.
