Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the behavior of the Turkish people who learn German as a foreign language to use the facts that they want to argue, to experimentally reveal what kinds of use problems in the students lead to the different characteristics of the native language and foreign language, and to develop suggestions on the solution of the problems. The method of research is an imaginary analysis model. For the research, a study was conducted with a hundred and eight students at Selçuk University, the Faculty of Literature, the Department of German Language and Literature. The aggregated data is interpreted by SPSS programming in four different variables: the correct and state use, the wrong use, the wrong use of the name status, and the wrong use. According to the findings obtained from the study, the success rate of German students in random practical uses is thirty-seven percent. When there is a similarity in the real demand between German and Turkish, the rate of accuracy increases, and when the difference occurs, errors arise. Although the two languages are different, the accuracy rate is high. According to these findings, it is clear that the translation between the mother language and the foreign language in the learning process, the errors caused by the structural differences of the languages are normal, the negative translation in the frequent facts is reduced, the more reading of text in the foreign language will bring the students to awareness and will correct their errors in their reasonable practical uses. Therefore, it will be useful to ensure that German students frequently meet German texts in order to accelerate the transition process from the rules of the mother language to the foreign language in learning a foreign language.
