Abstract:

Tourism has the potential to ensure employment, economic growth, social and cultural integration with all stakeholders acting cooperatively not only in urban areas but also in rural areas. Tourism is also important for raising awareness of local, cultural and historical values, natural environment and ecology. Based on the importance of the subject, this study aims to reveal the opinions and awareness of the stakeholders of the Cappadocia Region on the tourism impacts. A qualitative research method was used in the study and interviews were conducted with 15 stakeholders. A total of 15 interviews were conducted and subjected to content analysis and as a result of the analysis, five main themes have been identified: Socio-Cultural Impact, Economic Impact, Environmental Impact, Management and Local People. Interviews have revealed that economic concerns in the region are more than those social and environmental. At the same time, it has been concluded that the management organization's relations in the destination are insufficient and the local people are unconscious about tourism.
