Abstract:

Strategy is a concept that has been formed within the understanding of management in different contexts since the existence of humanity. Although the basis of the concept has matured with the concepts of management and leadership that emerged with the collective life of people, its use in a way that makes sense on its own became possible in later times. The conceptual essence of the strategy phenomenon, which came to the forefront as a part of the art of war in ancient times, gained different dimensions with the influence of the industrial revolution and the information age that followed. The conceptualization of strategy, which entered the management literature as a representation of the art of war, in today's organizations; It has started to be used in many different areas such as strategic management, strategic information systems, strategic performance management systems, strategic learning, strategic cost management, entrepreneurial strategies, strategic human resources management, strategic leadership and behavioral strategy. In this context, in this study, a framework has been tried to be drawn by referring to this new orientation and usage areas of strategic management, which are important for today's organizational structures. With this framework, a brief evaluation of the projections of strategic understanding in the organizational field has been made and a conceptual discussion has been tried to be put forward.
