Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, sosyal bilgiler dersine giren sosyal bilgiler ve sınıf öğretmenlerinin çokkültürlü eğitime ilişkin tutumları ve görüşleri doğrultusunda bir değerlendirme yapmaktır. Çalışma, nicel ve nitel araştırma yöntemlerinin beraber kullanıldığı karma yöntem yaklaşımına göre tasarlanmıştır. Çalışmada başta nicel verilerin toplanıp ardından nitel verilerle araştırma sonuçlarının desteklendiği açımlayıcı sıralı karma yöntem deseni kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubunu Erzurum ilinde görev yapan sosyal bilgiler ve sınıf öğretmenleri oluşturmaktadır. Nicel veriler “Öğretmenlerin Çokkültürlü Eğitim Tutum Ölçeği” testi ile nitel verileri ise araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen “Yarı Yapılandırılmış Görüşme Formu” ile toplanmıştır. Araştırmada kullanılan nicel verilerin analizinde t-Testi, Tek Faktörlü Varyans Analizi ve Kruskal-Wallis-H Testi, nitel verilerin analizinde ise betimsel analiz tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel sonuçlarına göre öğretmenlerin çokkültürlü eğitime ilişkin görüşlerinin daha çok olumlu olduğu belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın nitel sonuçlarına göre öğretmenlerin çokkültürlü eğitim ile ilgili çeşitli ön yargıları ve bilgi eksiklikleri olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ulaşılan sonuçlara göre öğretmenlerin çokkültürlü eğitime yönelik farkındalıklarını artıracak eğitim içeriklerinin hazırlanması önerilebilir.
The main objective of this study is to make an assessment in accordance with the attitudes and views of social information and classmates entering the social information course. The study is designed according to the karma approach in which quantitative and qualitative research methods are used together. In the study, initially the quantitative data was collected and then the research results were supported by the open-sectioned mixed method design. The work group is formed by social information and class teachers who work in the Erzurum province. Quantitative data were collected with the test "Teacher's multicultural educational attitude scale" and the qualification data were collected with the "Semi-structured Interview Form" developed by the researcher. In the analysis of quantitative data used in the study, the t-Test, the one-factor variance analysis and the Kruskal-Wallis-H test, and in the analysis of the quality data, the visual analysis technique was used. The study’s quantial results show that teachers’ opinions about multicultural education are more positive. According to the quality results of the study, teachers have a variety of prejudices and lack of knowledge regarding multicultural education. According to the findings, it may be recommended to prepare educational content that will increase teachers’ awareness of multicultural education.
