Abstract:

The aim of this study is to examine the views of teachers on the organizational climate of their schools. The research was conducted with the teachers who were chosen among the teachers working in a secondary school in Ankara in the 2020-2021 academic year, on a voluntary basis, with the maximum variety and criterion sampling method. The research was carried out with the qualitative research and case study design. Semi-structured interview form developed by the researchers was used as the data collection tool in the study. Content analysis was used in the analysis of the data. According to the results of the research, the teachers stated that they found the climate in their school closed, they did not feel good at school, their communication was generally good in their own groups even though there were groupings at school and they provided trust among their own groups. Teachers emphasized that the organizational climate of their schools is primarily affected by the school administration, the communication between their colleagues and the school environment. In addition, according to opinions, communication with parents, physical equipment of the school, school rules and teacher circulation also affect the organizational climate of the school. In the research, suggestions were made to create strong, positive and healthy organizational climate based on the findings.
