Purpose: Differentiating gender is an important practice in the practice of judicial dental medicine. In our study, we evaluated how the size of the sinus (MS) has a role in making gender differences. Tools and Methods: In our study, 14 male and 14 female patients have been measured by conic radiated computer tomography (KIBT) for sinus height, width, length, volume and surface area (MS). For the use of the aforementioned sizes in the legal dental practice, it has been assessed whether they differ according to gender. The correlation between the age of the patient and the size of the sinus (MS) was also considered. For statistical analysis, the Student's t test and the Pearson r correlation were used. The MS sizes of 3 randomly selected patients to measure the reliability of a single judge were measured 2 times in two months periods and the intra class correlation (ICC) ratio was calculated. Results: When compared the size of the maxilar sinus (MS) between female and male patients, there was no significant difference in the length, height, volume and surface area values (p>0.05). However, the left (p=0.019) and right (p=0.013) MS width values were observed to make significant differences by gender, respectively, by an average of 5.42 mm and 5.96 mm in women. The correlation between MS dimensions and age was studied, and it was found that there was a positive weak relationship between age and right MS length (r=0.328, p=0.088) and left MS length (r=0.304, p=0.116). Good reliability (ICC> 0.876) was observed among repeated measurements. The result: In the judicial dentistry applications, both the right and the left MS width can be used as a tool for gender distinction.
