Amaç: Lise son sınıf öğrencilerinin sosyal hizmet mesle-ğiyle ilgili görüşlerinin belirlenmesidir. Yöntem: Çalışma Ankara’da bulunan altı lisede 450 (301 kız, 149 erkek) son sınıf öğrencisi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde frekans dağılımı (f) ve ki- kare (χ2) analizleri kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Öğrencilerin yarıdan fazlasının (%62,4) sosyal hizmet mesleği ile ilgili bilgisi yoktur. Büyük bölümünün (%94,7) okullarında meslek tanıtılmamıştır. Yarıdan fazlası (%59,6) mesleğin toplumdaki imajını düşük bulmaktadır. Bü-yük bölümü (%69,8) üniversiteye giriş sınavında sosyal hizmeti tercih etmeyi düşünmemektedir. Tercih etmeme nedenleri ara-sında ilk sırada mesleğin toplumda değerinin anlaşılamamış olması yer almaktadır. Sonuç: Mesleğin tanıtıldığı okullardaki öğrenciler, mesleğin toplumdaki imajının yüksek olduğunu düşünenler üniversiteye giriş sınavında bölümü tercih etme eğilimindedirler. Öneri: Liselerde mesleği tanıtıcı etkinliklerin düzenlenmesi, mesleğin toplumdaki imajını yükseltici çalışma-lar yapılması önemli görülmektedir.
Purpose: High school is to determine the opinions of the students of the final class on the social service profession. Method: The study was carried out with 450 (301 girls, 149 men) final class students in six high schools located in Ankara. In the analysis of the data, the frequency distribution (f) and the quarter (χ2) analysis were used. Results: More than half of students (62.4%) have no knowledge about the social service profession. The majority of the schools (94.7%) did not promote the profession. More than half (59.6%) find the image of the profession in society low. The Bureau-weight department (69.8%) is not thinking of preferring social services in the university entrance exam. The reason why I prefer is that in the first place the value of the profession in society is not understood. Result: Students in the schools where the profession is presented, those who think that the image of the profession in society is high tend to prefer the part in the university entrance exam. Recommendation: In high school, it is important to organize activities that promote the profession, to perform studies that raise the image of the profession in society.
Purpose: The aim of this study is to find out the views of the senior high school students on the profession of social work. Method: The study was conducted on six different high schools in Ankara with 301 female and 149 male students, in total 450 volunteers. The data were analyzed by utilizing fre-quency distribution and chi-square (χ2) techniques. Findings: More than the half of the students (62,4%) have no information on the profession of social work. In their schools, this profes-sion has not been introduced to the vast majority of the students (94,7%). More than half thinks (59,6%) the image of the pro-fession is quite low. An overwhelming number of students (69,8%)do not consider to choose social work at the university admission exam. Among the reasons, of that is the fact that the social value of the profession is not understood by the society. Result: Students who are introduced in their schools with the profession and those who think the image of the profession is rather high in the society are tending to choose social work at the university admissions exam. Suggestion: It seems to be important to organize career days in high schools and perform works in order to increase the value of this profession in the eyes of the society.
