Abstract:

As a result of the developments in the 21st century, the implementation of new educational programs has affected the qualifications that teachers should have and in 2017 the general qualifications of the teaching profession have been re-defined by the Ministry of National Education (MEB). These qualifications consist of 3 competence fields, “professional knowledge”, “professional skills” and “attitudes and values”. The purpose of this study is to study the qualifications of the professional skill teacher according to the opinions of class teacher candidates. In the research methods of quality research has been used a screening model. The work group is composed of 29 class teachers candidates who study in the last class of the Class Education Department of the Sakarya University School of Education. A semi-configured interview form was used as a data collection tool prepared by researchers. In the analysis of data, the content analysis technique has been used. In general, the research finds that the self-qualifications of class teacher candidates in relation to their professional skills are more positively affected than self-qualification sources. It is recommended that candidates provide more experience at the bachelor level, as the self-qualifications of the class teacher candidates are positively influenced by their lives directly through 4 basic sources.
