Abstract:

Teknolojik gelişmelerin günümüz toplumundaki artan etkisiyle birlikte ortaya çıkan yenilikler ve sağladığı kolaylıkların sosyal sistemin her alanını kuşatması, bireysel ve toplumsal ilişki biçimlerimizi değiştirmekte ve farklılaştırmaktadır. Öyle ki yüz yüze ve karşılıklı etkileşimler aracılığıyla sürdürülen birçok gündelik eylem, yoğun olarak teknolojik araçlarla gerçekleştirilmekte ve yaşantımızın sıradanlaşan bir parçası haline dönüşmüş bulunmaktadır. Gündelik sohbetlerden, eğlenme biçimine, boş zaman aktivitelerinden çalışma biçimlerine kadar çoğu davranışımız farklı biçim ve boyutlar kazanarak sanal ortamlara taşınmış ve dijitalleşmiştir. Dahası teknolojik gelişmeler ve tüketim toplumunun içerisine doğmuş olan yeni bir neslin varlığını da düşündüğümüzde kültürel pratiklerimiz her geçen gün dönüşüme uğramakta ve yaygınlık kazanmaktadır. Bu perspektif içerisinde çalışmamızda ‘online alışveriş’, ‘internetten alışveriş’, ‘sanal alışveriş’, ‘e-ticaret’, ya da ‘elektronik ticaret’ olarak adlandırılan dijital davranışın sosyolojik analizi, üniversite öğrencileri örnekleminde irdelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmada nicel yöntem tercih edilerek 17-20 Şubat 2020 tarihleri arasında Akdeniz Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi Sosyoloji, Felsefe, Coğrafya ve Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı bölümlerinden toplam 240 öğrenci ile görüşülmüş ve anket uygulaması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Örneklem grubunun dijital alışveriş düzeyi, algısı, deneyimleri, beklentileri ve karşılaştıkları sorunlara ilişkin toplanan veriler numaralandırılmış ve SPSS programı aracılığıyla tablolaştırılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Katılımcıların dijital alışveriş davranışını; kolaylık, rahatlık, ucuzluk, erişebilirlik ve zamandan tasarruf olarak algıladığı ve %88,8 oranında dijital alışveriş deneyimine sahip olduğu bulgulanmıştır.

The innovations and facilities arising along with the increasing impact of technological developments in today’s society encompass every area of the social system, change and differentiates our individual and social forms of relationships. So many daily actions that are carried out through face-to-face and mutual interactions are intensely carried out by technological means and have become a normalizing part of our lives. From daily conversations, to the way of entertainment, to the way of work, most of our behaviors have been moved and digitalized into virtual environments, gaining different forms and dimensions. Moreover, when we consider the existence of a new generation of technological developments and consumer society, our cultural practices are transformed and spread every day. In this perspective, our study has been aimed at the social analysis of digital behavior called ‘online shopping’, ‘internet shopping’, ‘virtual shopping’, ‘e-commerce’, or ‘electronic commerce’, which has been developed in the examples of university students. In the study, the quantum method was preferred and between 17-20 February 2020 the Mediterranean University Faculty of Literature sociology, philosophy, geography and Turkish language and literature departments discussed with a total of 240 students and the survey application was carried out. The data collected about the digital shopping level, perception, experiences, expectations and problems they encounter have been numerated and evaluated through the SPSS program. The participants perceived the behavior of digital shopping as easy, comfortable, cheap, accessible and time-saving, with 88.8% of digital shopping experience.

Most of our behaviors, from casual conversations to the way of having fun, from leisure activities to working styles, have been transferred to virtual environments and digitalized, gaining different forms and dimensions. Moreover, when we consider the existence of a new generation born into technological developments and consumer society, our cultural practices are transforming and becoming widespread every day. In this perspective, in our study, sociological analysis of digital behavior called ‘online shopping’, ‘e-shopping’, ‘virtual shopping’, ‘e-commerce’, or ‘electronic commerce’ is tried to be examined for university students. Using quantitative method in the research, a total of 240 students from Akdeniz University Faculty of Letters Sociology, Philosophy, Geography and Turkish Departments of Language and Literature are interviewed and a survey is conducted between the dates of 17-20 February 2020. The data collected regarding the digital shopping level, perception, experiences, expectations and problems faced by the sample group are numbered and evaluated by tabulating through SPSS program. It is found that the participants perceive digital shopping behavior as convenient, easy, cheap, accessible and time saving; and 88.8% of they have digital shopping experience.
