Review of the effects of the environmental stressors they perceive on the sleep system: The purpose of this study is to study the effects of the environmental stressors they perceive on the sleep system by patients treated in the intensive care unit. Instrument and Method: The sample of this research, which is of a characteristic type, was made by 252 patients based in a university hospital’s General Surgery Intensive Care Unit. In the collection of data, the "Patient Promotion Form", the "High Care Unit Environmental Stresors Scale" and the "Richard's Campbell Sleep Scale" were used. Results: Patients were found with an average score of 70,06±13,62, an average score of 48,75±24,74. A statistically significant difference has been found between the average score of the CBS and the previous hospitalization and the chronic condition of the disease, the average score of the CBS and the civil condition, the previous hospitalization and the chronic condition of the disease (p<0,05). The study found that there was a very strong negative relationship between the participants’ GDP and the total score average of the RCUA. Results: The study found that as patients perceive an increased level of environmental stressor, the sleep system was negatively affected. In the intensive care unit, the environmental stressors are recommended to be minimized by determining.
