Abstract:

In the world and in our country, the worries about healthy nutrition have begun to increase in recent times, organic plant production and organic animal production have begun to gain importance. The chemical input is widely used in conventional farming and the use of medications is the basis of these concerns. There are other reasons why organic farming is important. These inputs used in conventional farming have a negative impact on human health, as they are mixed into soil and underground waters, causing environmental pollution. Since there is no chemical input in organic farming, it is possible to say that this form of production is an environmentally friendly production model. The organic product market is targeting large crowds around the world, and this market share is increasing importance every year. Tunceli is among the provinces in our country where organic plant and animal production can be produced efficiently. In this province, the industry has not yet developed, the population density is low and the geographical structure is suitable for organic agriculture and especially organic small-scale animal production. In this study, Tunceli’s organic agriculture potential was evaluated based on organic agriculture rules and geographical characteristics. It is necessary to evaluate the agricultural structure and the existing organic agriculture potential.
