İstanbul turizm destinasyonu çok önemli potansiyele sahiptir. Şehirde gerçekleştirilen terör saldırıları turizm talebine olumsuz etki etmektedir. turistlerin algılarını olumsuz etkilemekte ve şehrin destinasyon imajı zarar görmektedir. İstanbul gerek nüfusu gerekse iş imkânları bakımından Türkiye’de önde gelen kentler arasında yer almaktadır. Turizmden elde edilen gelirin önemli bir payı İstanbul’dan karşılanmaktadır. Terör örgütlerini ve terör yandaşları ekonomiyi çökertmenin peşinde koşmaktadır. Ülke çapında elde edilen gelirlerin önemli bir bölümü turizmden karşılanmaktadır. Terör saldırıları en çok turistlerin yoğun olarak görüldüğü ve emniyet güçlerinin yoğun olarak bulunduğu yerlere gerçekleştirilmektedir. Ulusal ve küresel anlamda öneme sahip olan İstanbul İlinde meydana terör olaylarının altındaki asıl sorunların belirlenip, bu konuda yeni çözüm yolları ortaya konulması amaç olarak gösterilmesi mümkün olmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda İstanbul Kentinin destinasyon imajının turistlerin zihinlerinde bıraktıkları algı ve düşüncelerin neticesinde neler yaşandığı, mevcut destinasyon imajının nasıl daha iyi bir noktaya getirilebileceği hususunda bu tür bir çalışma gerçekleştirme gayretinde bulunulmaktadır. Bu anlamda yapılan ilk ve özgün çalışma olması sebebiyle turizm-terör ve benzeri alanlarda çalışma yapanlara kaynak teşkil edecektir. Ulusal platformlarda İstanbul daha kapsamlı bir şekilde göz önünde bulundurulması gerekmektedir. Doğal, kültürel, beşeri ve siyasi faktörler yönünden İstanbul incelenecek olduğunda mühim bir turizm destinasyonu olmaktadır. Güvenlik önlemlerinin artırılması, insanların bilinçlendirilmesi, yaşama hakkına saygı duyulması, siyasi ilişkilerin iyileştirilmesi önemli olmaktadır. Terör olaylarının gerçekleşmeden önce kontrol altına alınması, can ve mal kaybının ortaya çıkmasına engel olacaktır. Bölgeyi ziyaret eden turistlerin zihinlerinde oluşturacakları kötü ve olumsuz algıların bir nevi önüne geçilmiş olacaktır.
The tourist destination of Istanbul has a very significant potential. Terrorist attacks in the city have a negative impact on the demand for tourism. It affects the perceptions of tourists and damages the image of the city's destination. Istanbul is among the leading cities in Turkey in terms of business opportunities. A significant portion of the income from tourism is received from Istanbul. Terrorist organizations and terrorist supporters are struggling to break down the economy. A large part of the country’s revenue is received from tourism. Terrorist attacks are carried out in places where tourists are most widely seen and where security forces are intense. It is possible to identify the main problems under the terrorist incidents that occur in the province of Istanbul, which is of national and global importance, and to show the objective of finding new solutions to this issue. In this direction, such a study is being made on how the destination image of the city of Istanbul can be brought to a better point as a result of the perceptions and thoughts that the tourists have left in their minds. This will be the first and original work done in this sense and will be a source for those working in tourism-terrorism and similar areas. In national platforms, Istanbul should be considered more comprehensively. When it comes to natural, cultural, human and political factors, Istanbul is an important tourist destination. It is important to increase security measures, awareness of people, respect for the right to live, and to improve political relations. The control of terror events before they occur will prevent the loss of lives and property from occurring. The tourists visiting the area will be faced with a nevial of bad and negative perceptions that will be created in their minds.
