1769 yılında, Fransa'da Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot buhar gücüyle çalışan aracın testi sırasında bir duvara çarpmış olup; yaşanan bu kaza, tarihteki ilk otomobil kazası olarak kabul edilmektedir. 1897'de meydana gelen trafik kazasında, bir taksi şoförü olan George Smith, bir binaya çarparak aracına hasar vermiş ve bu tarihte alkol etkisinde araç kullanımı ile ilişkili ilk kaza olarak yer almıştır. O günlerden, bugüne hızla artan motorlu taşıt ve insan sayısına paralel olarak, günümüzde trafik kazaları, yüksek morbidite ve mortalite oranları ile dünyanın en önemli sorunlarından biri olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Çeşitli çalışmalarda, sürücülerin alkol ve ilaç kullanımı ile trafik kazaları ve trafik kazalarında ölüm ve yaralanma riskinin artışı arasında bir ilişki bulduğunu ortaya konulmuştur. Bu çalışmada, trafik kazalarının tarihçesi, günümüzde trafik kazalarının durumu, alkol ve ilaç kullanımının trafik kazaları üzerine etkisi hakkında genel bilgilerin sunumunu takiben trafikte yol kenarı alkol, uyuşturucu ve uyarıcı tarama testlerinin tarihçesi, gelişimi ve günümüzde kullanımı ile ilgili bilgilerin derlenerek sunulması amaçlanmıştır.
In 1769, Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot crashed a wall during the test of a steam-powered car in France, which is considered the first car accident in history. In a traffic accident in 1897, a taxi driver, George Smith, hit a building and damaged his vehicle, and it was the first accident in the history to be associated with the use of a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Since then, parallel to the rapidly growing number of motor vehicles and people, traffic accidents, high morbidity and mortality rates are now described as one of the most important problems in the world. Several studies have found that drivers have found a link between alcohol and drug use and increased risk of death and injury in traffic accidents and traffic accidents. In this study, the history of traffic accidents, the current state of traffic accidents, the general information on the impact of alcohol and drug use on traffic accidents, the history, development and information on the current use of alcohol, drug and stimulating scanning tests on the road side in the traffic, is intended to be presented by the collection.
