Özet:

Breast cancer is the first reason for female deaths caused by cancer. Therefore, screening tests are gaining importance in the world and in our country. Excisional biopsy is crucial to confirm and confirm the diagnosis as a result of screening tests. In this study, we compared the histopathological results of stereotactic excisional biopsy of non-palpable lesions suspected and/or malignant in screening tests. METHODS: Between December 2014 and June 2019, 151 female patients who underwent stereotactic biopsy in The University Hospital General Surgery Clinic were retrospectively evaluated. BIRADS category and histopathological results after biopsy were compared with ultrasound and mammography. A total of 151 women aged between 17 and 78 years were evaluated retrospectively. The malignant percentage of BIRADS 4 and BIRADS 5 lesions according to histopathological results after breast wire marking was 16% and 80%, respectively. In addition, the histopathological features of the nonpalpable lesions detected by ultrasound and mammography vary considerably. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: As a result of screening tests, early diagnosis and treatment of suspicious lesions are provided by excisional biopsy, and cancer deaths can be prevented significantly.
