Abstract:

The Korean Peninsula was occupied in various periods of history and divided into two after World War II. North Korea, which has a historic threat perception, has developed the idea that it must have an atomic bomb to continue its existence. North Korea’s nuclear weapons has influenced external threats and dynamics within the country. North Korea, within the framework of the Cuche ideology, which means “self-confidence”, has isolated itself from the whole world. In this study, the North Korean nuclear program was addressed from a realistic theory perspective within the framework of the official state ideology. The aim of the study is to analyze the motivations behind the development of North Korea’s nuclear program and to explore the internal and external factors that form these motivations. The study emphasizes North Korea’s nuclear weapons because it explains its nuclear weapons taking into account external threats as well as its internal dynamics and state ideology. In the study, in the light of the current summer; the use of qualitative research methods in a conceptual, theoretical and historical framework has been attempted to create a causal-resultate relationship between Cuçe ideology and practice.

North Korea has isolated itself from the whole world within the framework of the Juche ideology, which means "self-confidence". In this study, North Korea's nuclear program is discussed from the perspective of realist theory within the framework of official state ideology. The aim of the study is to analyze the motivations behind North Korea's development of its nuclear program and to examine the internal and external factors that create these motivations. The study is important because it explains the nuclear armament of North Korea by taking into account the internal dynamics and state ideology as well as external threats. In this study, through the light of the current literature; it has been tried to establish a cause-effect relationship between Juche ideology and practice in a conceptual, theoretical and historical framework by using qualitative research methods.
