Abstract:

Introduction: Work satisfaction is an important factor in keeping nurses in work. The number of scales tested, validity and reliability of nurses used in Turkey to evaluate the work satisfaction is limited. Purpose: This methodological study was conducted with the aim of examining whether the Turkish form of "McCloskey and Mueller Employment Scale" is a valid and reliable tool for nurses in our country. Method: This study was conducted with 324 nurses working in three hospitals in Istanbul between June and August 2017. As a data collection tool, the "social-demographic and professional characteristics form" has been used with the 31 article "McCloskey and Mueller Business Drawing Scale". Results: The scale validity index .93 was found. In the internal consistency analysis, the Cronbach alpha reliability ratio was determined to be .81 for the entire scale; .45 to .70 for the lower dimensions. There was no difference between the two applications in the test-re-test analysis (t = .27, p .05). Thirty-one matter's total score correlation reliability ratings were found between r = .28 and .49. In the verifying factor analysis, the factor loads of the scale substances with their own size (eight sub-dimensional) were determined between .36 and .64. The measurement has been determined that the model-data compatibility values are good at an acceptable level (Ki-quarters / freedom degree: 1.4, p .05). The result: The McCloskey and Mueller Business Doyum Scale's Turkish form meets the scope and validity standards of the structure. While material analyses and time-resistant reliability standards are provided, it is necessary to work on internal consistency (Cronbach alpha) reliability in terms of the lower dimensions of the scale.
