Hemşirelik Öğrencilerinin Etik Sorunlara Yaklaşım Durumlarının Belirlenmesi

Abstract:

Amaç: Bu çalışma hemşirelik öğrencilerinin etik sorunlara yaklaşımlarını belirlemek amacı ile yapılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı-kesitsel türde planlanmış olan çalışma Mayıs–Haziran 2019 tarihleri arasında Akdeniz Üniversitesi Hemşirelik Fakültesi’nde yapılmıştır. Araştırma verileri kişisel bilgi formu ve Sağlık Alanında Etik Sorunlara Yaklaşım Ölçeği ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde sayı, ortalama, yüzdelik dağılımlar, standart sapma, Cronbach alfa katsayısı, Kruskal Wallis analizi ve Mann-Whitney U testi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin demografik özellikleri incelendiğinde %67.2’sinin (N = 405) kadın olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışmaya katılan öğrencilerin %19.1’i (N = 115) birinci sınıf, %24.5’i (N = 148) ikinci sınıf, %29.7’si (N = 179) üçüncü sınıf ve %26.7’si (N = 161) dördüncü sınıf olduğu bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerin %69.7’sinin (N = 420) bölümü severek geldiği saptanmıştır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin %70.1’ünün (N = 423) etik ile ilgili ders aldığı saptanmıştır. Tıp etiğinin temel ilkelerine ilişkin algı düzeyi ile kurallar ve yazılı etik kodlara yönelik algı düzeyi erkek öğrencilerde anlamlı düzeyde yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır. Öğrencilerin hemşirelik bölümünü sevme durumu ile tıp etiğinin temel ilkelerine ilişkin algı düzeyi (U = 33680.5, p = 0.015), kurallar ve yazılı etik kodlara yönelik algı düzeyi alt boyutlarında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu saptanmıştır (U = 34647, p = 0.045). Öğrencilerin eğitim aldıkları sınıflara göre SAESYÖ’nin alt boyutları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı saptanmıştır. Öğrencilerin etik ile ilgili ders alma durumu ile SAESYÖ’nin alt boyutları arasında anlamlı bir fark olmadığı bulunmuştur. Sonuç: Bu çalışmada hemşirelik öğrencilerinin tıp etiğinin temel ilkelerine ilişkin algı düzeyi ve ile yazılı etik kodlara yönelik algı düzeyi düşük düzeyde bulunmuş olup tıp etiğinde değer ve standartlara yönelik algı düzeyi orta düzeyde çıkmıştır.

Purpose: This study was conducted with the aim of determining the approaches of nursing students to ethical issues. Tools and Methods: The study of the detective-specific type planned was carried out at the Mediterranean University Nursing Faculty between May and June 2019. The research data is collected with personal information form and the Approach to Ethical Problems in the field of Health. The data assessment used numbers, average, percentage distribution, standard deviation, Cronbach alpha ratio, Kruskal Wallis analysis and Mann-Whitney U test. Results: When the demographic characteristics of the study were studied, 67.2% (N = 405) were women. 19.1 percent of the students who participated in this study (N = 115) first class, 24.5 percent (N = 148) second class, 29 percent. 7 (N = 179) was the third class and 26.7% (N = 161) was the fourth class. 69.7 percent of students (N = 420) were found to love the section. It is also found that 70.1 percent of students (N = 423) received lessons related to ethics. The level of perception of the basic principles of medical ethics and the level of perception of the rules and written ethical codes has been found to be significantly high in male students. The level of perception regarding the basic principles of medical ethics (U = 33680.5, p = 0.015), the level of perception regarding the rules and written ethical codes has been found to be a statistically meaningful difference in the lower dimensions (U = 34647, p = 0.045). According to the classes that students receive education, there is no significant difference between the lower dimensions of the SAESYÖ. There is no significant difference between the student’s ethical status and the sub-dimensions of the SAESYÖ. Result: In this study, the level of perception of nursing students about the basic principles of medical ethics and the level of perception of written ethical codes was low, and the level of perception of values and standards in medical ethics was high.

Material and Method: Descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted between May and June 2019 at Akdeniz University Faculty of Nursing. The data of the study was collected with personal information form and Approach to Ethical Problems in Health Field Scale. In the analaysis of the data; Number, mean, percentage distributions, standard deviation, Cronbach alpha coefficient, Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis analysis were performed.  Results: When the demographic characteristics of the students participating in the study were examined, it was determined that 67.2% (N = 405) were women. In this study, it was determined that 19.1% (N = 115) of the students were first grade, 24.5% (N = 148) were second grade, 29.7% (N = 179) were third grade and 26.7% (N = 161) were fourth grade. It was determined that 69.7% (N = 420) of the students loved the department. In addition, it was determined that 70.1% (N = 423) of the students took courses on ethics. The level of perception of the basic principles of medical ethics and the level of perception of rules and written ethical codes were found to be statistically higher in male students. It was found that there was a statistically significant difference (U = 33680.5, p = 0.015) between the students' loving of nursing department and the Perceptions Level of Basic Ethics Principles and Perceptions (U = 34647, p = 0.045). There was no significant difference between the sub-dimensions of SAESYÖ according to the classes in which the students were trained. It was found that there was no significant difference between the ethical course taking status of students and the sub-dimensions of SAESYÖ. Conclusion: In this study, the level of perception of the the basic principles of medical ethics and the level of perception about written ethical codes were found to be low and the level of perception of values and standards in medical ethics was found to be moderate.
